Financial Wellness Vs. Physical Wellness (12-19-14)
Most people don’t think about how their financial status relates to their physical wellness. Stress over minor money matters can lead to minor earnings for your future. Stress over major money matters makes a major difference on your physical health.
The next time you have a headache, chest or back pain, or have been diagnosed with an ulcer – take a minute to think about what you have been doing recently. Have you been worrying about the electric bill, your investment earnings or just how to make ends meet? These worries can relate directly to those aches and pains.
Now let’s think about the opposite. You just received a bonus, an unexpected commission, a raise or you met with your financial investors and found out your earnings are doing splendid. The rush you feel on the positive news is your brain releasing endorphins throughout your body which makes you feel amazing. Much like when you each chocolate, have a great workout, have a wonderful laugh with friends, or even have sex. Endorphins are our friends.
So, how do you take your worries over money and turn them into something positive that will be beneficial to your health? First, know that it might not be easy. Second, do it anyway. Find your own personal way to turn what you perceive as a negative into a positive. Look at what you have accomplished instead of what is left to be done. If you can’t control something then stop trying to. Work with what you can control. By changing how we look at something, we can find new ways of doing things that can benefit us financially which in turn benefits us physically.
As you think about 2014, don’t think about what you didn’t get done. Think about all of the wonderful things, large and small, that you accomplished. Keep those accomplishments forefront in your mind as you head into the New Year.
You are in control of your own destiny... financially and physically.
